Just be aware that the irritation profile of the combined product is driven by the retinol, not the niacinamide; spec the retinol concentration carefully.

Q: What pH should my niacinamide serum be? A: Target pH 5.0 to 5.5, with an acceptance range of 5.0 to 5.7. Below pH 5.0, niacinamide can slowly convert to nicotinic acid. Above pH 6.0, the product feels less acidic-fresh on skin and consumers sometimes describe it as soapy. The 5.0 to 5.5 window is the sweet spot for stability, sensory, and skin tolerance.
